Who are we
Casa d'Abóbora is a non-profit association located in the rural interior of Portugal, in the municipality of Cinfães. Our main objectives are the preservation and promotion of local cultural heritage, as well as cultural development, with a strong focus on social, environmental, and economic sustainability. Our mission is centered around rural development, addressing the depopulation of territories and its subsequent consequences. In this regard, the association implements European-funded projects and independent initiatives on themes such as cultural heritage, education, youth empowerment, arts and culture, migrant integration, and more.
What we do
Our main objective is to preserve, promote, and invigorate the cultural heritage of the low-density rural area within the Cinfães municipality. Our mission is reflected in the promotion of socio-cultural and artistic activities that aim to foster connections between visitors and local residents.
Our Vision
Our vision is to build an intergenerational and sustainable network that values, preserves, and energizes local socio-cultural heritage. We also seek to encourage discussion on issues related to rural life and its depopulation.
